However, there's no telling which opponent could get this weapon at any time in a race. To know when a shockwave is coming towards you on the track, look at the track minimap on the bottom right corner of the HUD, and on there, the shockwave is indicated by a lightning bolt symbol like that seen on the speed boost tokens. When an opponent uses the shockwave, get to the side of the track to avoid it (provided you're in a wide enough area), or use a Stealth Mode pick-up to protect yourself. Another limitation of the shockwave is that it could only go so far before dissipating. Please note that the shockwave does not affect invisible opponents and only fires forward. The shockwave can also be fired through a shortcut, a nice bonus, especially if you're playing multiplayer and at least one opponent knows about the shortcuts. The more opponents you hit with the shockwave, the higher the position you'll get into in a race.
